Yahoo Hacked, More Than 450,000 Passwords Posted Online


If you are using Yahoo for some reasons, it time to change your password. Yahoo Voice have been hacked by unknown hacking group and more than 450,000 usernames and unencrypted passwords have been posted online.

The report was brought online by the D33Ds Company. The website appeared to be down after posting the information.


Hacking group have posted following message at the end of the document: 
"We hope that the parties responsible for managing the security of this subdomain will take this as a wake-up call, and not as a threat," a note on the page said. "There have been many security holes exploited in Web servers belonging to Yahoo! Inc. that have caused far greater damage than our disclosure. Please do not take them lightly."


One more reason to switch to Google, if you are still using yahoo.


What You Should Do?
1. Immediately Change your password.
2. Check your account settings.
3. Revoke access to unknown apps.
4. Move to better service.

Update: Yahoo said they are investigating the security breach.

  1. Gmail will be hacked too. It's a function of size. Big targets (windows) get hacked. Now, viruses are emerging on Macs because there are enough of them to be appealing.
